Robert E. Appel, J.D., LL.M, M.B.A.

Second Vice-President of National Design/Advanced Planning

Bob is Second Vice President of National Design/Advanced Planning. Bob joined Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in January 1998, as a result of the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company acquisition. Prior to joining Connecticut General Life Insurance Company in 1986, Bob worked in the accounting firm of Touche Ross & Co. (Stamford, CT.) as a Senior Tax Consultant and the Lexington Insurance Company, AIG (Boston, MA) where he was Assistant Manager of Financial Services. He also has a limited private practice of law and continues to be a consultant to other attorneys and law firms. Bob has been an instructor of continuing education for Connecticut real estate agents and brokers since 1984. He is a member of the American and Connecticut Bar Associations. Bob received his BS degree (Accounting and Finance) from Central Connecticut State University, JD degree from the University of Bridgeport School of Law, MBA (Finance) degree from the University of Connecticut, and LL.M. (Taxation) degree from Boston University School of Law.

David Megaw, J.D., LL.M., CLU, ChFC

Second Vice-President at Lincoln Financial Distributors

Dave is Second Vice President at Lincoln Financial Advisors. During his career he has managed the advanced underwriting operations of Phoenix Mutual, CNA and CIGNA. Dave is the co-author of Asset Management Plan and Business and Estate Asset Review and authored A Quick Reference Guide to the 1986 Tax Reform Act, Longman Publishing. He has been quoted in Barron's, The New York Times, National Underwriter and Best's Review. His article on trusts was published in Investment Advisor. At Lincoln, he is the editor of a weekly newsletter on tax, legal and insurance issues. Dave was a member of the first advisory board for Commerce Clearing Houses' Estate and Financial Planning service. He was president of the Hartford CLU Chapter and recently served on the Board of the Hartford Estate and Business Planning Council. He taught the masters program in advanced estate planning for the American College. He chaired the American Society's Financial Counseling Section and was a member of the American Society's National Board from 1994 to1997. He chaired the Board Certification Task Force. He is national chair of the Estate Planning Section for the Society of Financial Service Professionals. He has served on the National Board nominating committee as well as the Journal of Financial Services Professionals editor selection committee. Dave received an AB from Fairfield University and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation at Boston University School of Law. He and his wife, Hilda, live in Glastonbury, Connecticut where he was elected to the Town Council for three terms. He is on the Board of the Glastonbury Education Foundation.

Donna Rowan, J.D., LL.M., CLU, ChFC

Assistant Vice-President of National Design

Donna is Assistant Vice President of National Design. Prior to joining COGMA/Lincoln in 1991, Donna was a tax consultant for Arthur Andersen & Co. in Hartford where she worked in the areas of personal and corporate income taxation as well as estate, gift and trust taxation. Donna received a BA degree in English from State University of New York at Buffalo and a J.D. from Western New England College School of Law. Additionally, in 1994 she received her LL.M (Taxation) from Boston University School of Law. Donna is a member of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations. Donna has also obtained her CLU and ChFC designations.

Rich Rojeck, CFP®

Managing Director Southern California Regional Planning Group

Rich is a Managing Director of the Southern California Regional Planning Group of Sagemark Consulting. He joined the firm in 1980 after serving six years as a Naval Officer. Rich advises high net worth individuals in the areas of estate and business succession planning s well as investment management. He has been included in Worth magazine's listing of the 250 Best Financial advisors. He also has over 20 years experience in coaching financial planners in the growth of their practice. Rich is a CFP® designee and holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University and an MBA from San Diego State University. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and served on the board of the International Association for Financial Planning from 1993 to 1999, including as President and Chairman. Rich serves on the gift planning advisory boards of Scripps/Mercy Hospital and the University of California, San Diego as well as the San Diego Foundation Professional Advisory Council. He also chairs the Financial Planning Program Advisory Committee, College of Business Administration at San Diego State University. Rich often serves as a resource to the media - in print as well as radio and television. He also speaks frequently to both industry and public groups. Rich is married, and resides with his wife and three children in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
